Brief Program Description: This program aims to address the complex challenges that clinical research professionals face in this electronic age of clinical research. With an increased reliance on electronic systems as a means of communication, data and financial management, medical records storage, and many other relevant functions, there is an increased need to understand the options and the guidelines currently available in the field. This symposium will focus on these various topics and provide input from experts in the field that will share their personal experience related to clinical research.

 

Program Objectives:

  1. Describe the processes of the Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (C-DISC) in developing standards for data integration in medical research and Electronic Health Records.
  2. Identify techniques for electronic management of clinical research
  3. Evaluate patient perspectives with electronic clinical research processes
  4. Comprehend regulations and compliance with use of electronic research system
